ANOUSHKA MIRCHANDANI, ÉLISE PEROI, ROSALIND TALLMADGE

CARVALHO returns to The Armory Show featuring a suite of new works by three female artists, Élise Peroi (b. 1990, Nantes, France), Rosalind Tallmadge (b. 1987, Cincinnati, Ohio), and Anoushka Mirchandani (b. 1988, Pune, India), who makes her debut with the gallery.

This year's presentation foregrounds practices operating within the expanded field of painting, privileging material sensitivity and bodily perception over image-based representation. Working at the intersection of architecture and tactility, the three artists engage opacity, permeability, and scale as conceptual tools.

ROSALIND TALLMADGE

Tallmadge’s large-scale panels incorporate natural crystals, mirrored mica, shaved stone, and silk— materials associated with luxury but reworked through obsessive, meditative labor. While painterly in scale, her works function as sculptural tapestries. The booth will feature a new multi-paneled grid alluding to serial portraiture, alongside a silk tapestry related to her ten-panel installation, Pareidolia, created for choreographer Ingrid Silva in 2025.

ÉLISE PEROI

Following her Frieze Los Angeles and Art Basel debuts, artist Élise Peroi is in an extended moment of momentum. Her practice reconfigures painting through a durational process of cutting, fragmentation, and reassembly. Gouache-on-silk landscapes are cut into irregular ribbons and rewoven on the tapestry loom, producing translucent panels that register light, air, and movement. In this process, destruction and reconstruction coalesce into a single temporal gesture embedded in the object.

Recent and forthcoming highlights include her first museum solo show in France at the Musée Jean-Lurçat et de la Tapisserie Contemporaine, Angers (2027), an exhibition at Museo Sant’Orsola, Florence (2026), her inaugural U.S. solo show at CARVALHO (2025), solo booths at Frieze Los Angeles (CARVALHO, 2026) and Art Basel (Galerie Benichou, 2026), and her selection as a 2026 Artsy Vanguard.

ANOUSHKA MIRCHANDANI

Anoushka Mirchandani's first two institutional solo exhibitions took place this year at The FLAG Art Foundation (New York) and at the Institute of Contemporary Art (San José). She is currently featured in Never The Same River at the Ford Foundation (New York), curated by Dexter Wimberly. Mirchandani’s work continually relocates the self across cultural and emotional contexts shaped by migration, gender, and otherness. Oscillating in approach between opacity and transparency, her visual technique mobilizes surface as both shield and disclosure, articulating identity as layered, adaptive, and situational. This presentation marks Mirchandani’s debut with CARVALHO.
